A ride for the doll

The other day Angela that has a 3 years old girl, went out to the park with her and the baby that is only 6 months old, she put the baby in the stroller and her 3 years old wanted to guide the stroller, this would be ok if they were in a safe area with no streets or stairs, but they still were in their apartment, her 3 years old girl then wanted to take the doll with them, but she had to hold the doll all the time and at the end Angela had to guide the stroller and hold the doll; now what is the importance of this situation, children tend to imitate and when they have little brothers or sisters they want to help, which is o.k. but sometimes is better to role play a little, in this case the solution here is to have a doll buggy and they can play with it for hours, developing creativity and imagination that is the biggest benefit of the pretend play in toddlers, and also a way for them to practice before they can help actually with the baby, however in this case, when the girl gets old enough to help, most likely the little baby will be old enough for not to be on a stroller.
